The 8010-4P-DC Decompression Nipple allows connection under residual pressure up to 3000 psi. Developed to overcome the difficulty of connecting implements or attachments with residual pressure buildup.

Simply insert this pressurized nipple into an unpressurized coupler. The pressurized nipple poppet pushes the coupler poppet open until it seats against the positive valve stop. The pressurized secondary nipple poppet then opens, releasing the pressurized fluid into the coupler. As the nipple has already sealed against the coupler, no fluid is lost. Once the residual pressure is released, the primary nipple opens. Both the nipple and coupler poppets then equalize allowing full flow through the coupling.
