In no way are these pumps adaptations of pumps originally built for handling water: Rotoprime™ pumps incorporate design features of paramount value for liquid hydrocarbon service.

Inside each Rotoprime™ pump an integral variable-capacity vane pump automatically evacuates air and vapor. This ability to effectively move air from the suction piping to the discharge piping is critical when pumping hydrocarbons (hand priming is not required). All Rotoprime™ pumps include ductile iron housings (cast steel avail.), heavy-duty SAE 1045 steel shafts, sealed bearings, viton fitted mechanical seals and balanced aluminum impellers with bronze wear rings. Pumps below also include the GRP 3306 Air Release for "stripping" air from dry suction piping and pumping against high heads such as filling storage tanks. Complete pump units are mounted on 52" x 1/2" steel base plates with explosion-proof TEFC motors (1750 RPM), S-Flex coupling system and guard. Self-priming to 10'.
