    Types of Centrifugal Pumps

Dultmeier Sales offers many different types of Centrifugal Pumps from many different manufacturers.

Long Coupled & Close Coupled Centrifugal Pumps:

Both long coupled & close-coupled centrifugal pump types include end suction ports and top discharge ports ("End Suction Centrifugal Pumps").

    Long-Coupled Centrifugal Pumps

    Long-Coupled Centrifugal Pumps:

Long-coupled centrifugal pumps include a coupling between the pump shaft and the motor shaft and are very popular because the motors used are readily available, especially in the larger horsepower sizes. In addition, the motor bearings are much better protected from seal leaks that may occur in the pump's seal cavity because there is a bearing pedestal on the pump in between the pump seal cavity and the motor shaft and bearings. However, long-coupled centrifugal pumps require careful coupling alignment when assembled and after installation in the field.

    Close-Coupled Centrifugal Pumps

    Close-Coupled Centrifugal Pumps:

Close-coupled centrifugal pumps do not require coupling alignment because a C-face or JM motor is bolted directly to the pump (with an adapter bracket that provides some space between the pump's seal cavity and the motor bearings).

    Cast Stainless Steel Centrifugal Pumps

    Cast Stainless Steel Centrifugal Pumps:

ANSI Centrifugal Pumps (ductile iron or cast stainless)

ANSI Centrifugal Pumps (Ductile Iron or Cast Stainless):

Straight Centrifugal ANSI Pumps are also End Suction Centrifugals and are built with heavy-duty bearings, shafts, top center line discharge and other features for longer life and less maintenance. These pumps also allow for a large variety of seals including single & double cartridge seals for high temperature or abrasive liquids.

    Self-Priming Centrifugal Pumps

Self-Priming Centrifugal Pumps are unique because they can "lift" liquids as high as 15', 20' or even 25' from ponds, underground tanks, pits, rivers, etc. They can also be used in the same applications as Straight Centrifugal Pumps ("flooded suction" applications such as pulling from above-ground storage tanks). Self-Priming Pumps can lift because they include a special "fattened belly" type of volute (casing) that holds a small amount of liquid in it, even when the suction pipe is evacuated. They also include a flapper style check valve built into the pump suction port. The user simply needs to "prime" the Self-priming Centrifugal Pump one time by pouring some liquid into a "priming tee" located directly atop the pump's discharge. We offer both Long-Coupled Self-Priming Centrifugal Pumps and Close-Coupled Self-Priming Centrifugal Pumps. These Self-Priming Centrifugal Pumps are offered in Cast Iron or Stainless Steel.

Thermoplastic / Poly Self-Priming Centrifugal Pumps

These pumps offer excellent chemical resistance, no corrosion and are also economical; however, they are not as durable as cast iron or cast stainless pumps.

    Engine-Driven Self-Priming Centrifugal Pumps:

These pumps have Cast Iron, Stainless Steel or Thermoplastic Casings/Impellers

Double Seal Centrifugal Pumps in Straight Centrifugal & Self-Priming Models

Double seal pumps are excellent choices for abrasive liquids or "run-dry" applications such as unloading trucks or evacuating pits or tanks. The Scot Pressure Seal Pump we offer is also a version of a Double Seal Centrifugal Pump.

Centrifugal Sprayer Pumps including Hydraulic Drive

Centrifugal Sprayer Pumps generally develop higher discharge pressures (heads) than the Centrifugal Transfer Pumps outlined above. They are commonly used on Self-Propelled or Pull-Type Agricultural Crop Sprayers and other Ag Spraying Equipment.

    Self-Priming Centrifugal Trash Pumps

Trash pumps include removable clean-out ports on their inlet volutes for quick and easy removal of jammed debris. They also include semi-open impellers and severe-duty mechanical seals for passing larger solids through the pump and also for better abrasives wear.

Self-Priming Centrifugal Pumps for Petroleum Fuels

Centrifugal Pumps for petroleum fuels usually include special materials of construction, especially for gasoline and other flammable fuels. Some models also include explosion-proof motors.

    PTO-Driven Self-Priming Centrifugal Pumps

    Multi-Stage Centrifugal Pumps

Multi-Stage Centrifugal Pumps are available in Vertical Configurations and in Horizontal Configurations. Multi-Stage Centrifugal Pumps include multiple impellers (stages) which allows for much higher discharge pressures (heads) than can be achieved with standard Single Stage Centrifugal Pumps.
